Gladiators Fail to Catch Soul Train

The American Gladiators fell 3-2 to Soul Train Sunday night at the MSA.  Soul Train got on the board first at 12:58 in the first period with a quick wrister that snuck past Red goalie Joe Renfro.  Green struck again 21 seconds later with a low shot through traffic.  Gladiator center Curtis Stepian scored at 7:06 with a low shot that hit Soul Train goalie Bruce Williamson in the right pad and slid in.  Stepian was assisted by AJ Maher on the goal.  The third Train goal came on the PP when a shot from the point was redirected off the stick of Gladiator defenseman Dalton Ford and past Renfro.  The first period ended 3-1 in the Train's favor.

The Gladiator's defense tightened up in the second period, as they only allowed 5 SOG in the period.  Late in the second, Ed Gorcenski punched a shot past Williamson to put the score at 3-2.  Gorcenski was assisted by captain Rob Lovaglio.

The third period saw back-and-forth rushes, but no scoring and the game ended 3-2.  Gladiator goalie Joe Renfro faced 19 SOG in the contest, while the AGs mustered 29 on Bruce Williamson.  Red  went 2/3 on the PK and 0/1 on the PP.

The Gladiators take on Starsky & Hutch (yellow) on February 19th at 2PM at the MSA.
